SPF IP check
Check whether an IP address may send mail for a domain, the way a receiving server checks SPF. See the result, the term that decided it and every step.
How it works
SPF (a DNS record that lists the servers allowed to send email for a domain) is checked against the domain in the MAIL FROM, or bounce, address. That's often not the From address people see. If your email service uses its own bounce domain, check that domain here.
The receiver reads the record's terms from left to right. The first one that matches the sending IP decides: + or no sign gives pass, ~ softfail, - fail and ? neutral. An include: matches when the included record passes. This tool runs the same steps (RFC 7208's check_host) and shows each one.
Terms like include, a, mx and redirect each cost a DNS lookup, and SPF allows 10 in total. Past that the result is permerror, which receivers treat as a failure. This check stops at the first match, so the count shown is for this IP only. The SPF flattener counts every branch and can cut the total down.
